No. While English is the primary language of the Journal, Islam Today Journal also publishes original and translated works in Arabic, Persian, Malay, Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian, and other languages commonly spoken in Muslim-majority societies.
In addition to accepting original works composed in languages other than English, authors of peer-reviewed articles originally published in English are encouraged to translate their work and submit the translation to the Journal. Because these submissions are translations of already peer-reviewed scholarship, they are not subject to a second round of ITJ’s peer-review process; instead, they undergo review by members of the Editorial Board.
The same policy applies to works originally published in other languages: authors may submit English translations of their previously peer-reviewed scholarship. In such cases, authors must provide the Reviewers’ Reports—or verifiable information about the publisher and peer-review process—to confirm that the work underwent external peer review prior to translation and submission.
