We often receive this question from authors:
I sent and uploaded my article, but I keep receiving a “resubmit” reply. Why?
All submissions to Islam Today Journal go through an internal editorial review, and in the case of articles, also an external peer review. The internal review streamlines submissions into four sections:
- Articles (internal editorial review; external double-blind peer review)
- Reviews of Works of Scholarship (internal editorial review only)
- Translations of Works of Scholarship (internal editorial review only)
- Reports, Datasets, and Primary Sources (internal editorial review only)
When submitting an Article for the first time, authors must remove all information that could identify them from the manuscript. Author details should be provided in a separate file. The main manuscript—the version evaluated by external reviewers—must not contain any identifying information, as the Journal uses a double-blind peer review process.
After the peer-review process concludes, and if the submission is accepted for publication, authors will be asked to resubmit a final, camera-ready version of the manuscript that includes identifying information (such as the authors’ names).
Therefore, if you are submitting an Article, you must remove your name and any identifying metadata from the manuscript file.
This requirement does not apply to other sections. Authors or translators submitting to Reviews of Works of Scholarship, Translations of Works of Scholarship, or Reports, Datasets, and Primary Sources may include their names, since these submissions are not subject to double-blind peer review.
